Port Gamble is Western Washington's best kept secret full of family-fun and outdoor recreation in Washington State's oldest company-owned town founded during the Wilkes Expedition in 1841.
Located just off the hood canal in Gamble bay, the location gave the little town of Port Gamble easy access for ocean commerce and made it a destination for sailors coming into the area. The small town of Port Gamble was resurrected and preserved in the mid-1960s, when 30 of the original buildings and houses were re-built by the Pope and Talbot company. In 1966 Port Gamble was declared a National Historic Landmark and is still a large tourist attraction.
Many of the businesses are located in original New England-style homes that have been restored and preserved, along with the town's general store and stately church. Port Gamble is also famous for it's paranormal activity and hosts an annual Ghost Conference in October.

One of our favorite features of Port Gamble is the local bites! Take a minute to explore a few of our favorite local eaters such as the Port Gamble General Store, recipient of the "Best Out-Of-The-Way Restaurant". Or check out the farm to table Butcher & Baker Provisons, which is not only a small eater & cafe but also your source for local meats, cheese and other small batch provisions.
